Legal Aid
China Legal Aid "1+1"
The "1+1" China Legal Aid Volunteer Action is a large-scale public welfare legal aid activity jointly initiated and organized by the Ministry of Justice and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. Since its official launch in 2009, Guoyao Qindao Law Firm has actively responded to the call for public welfare, organizing lawyers multiple times to provide legal aid in impoverished areas such as Guizhou, Yunnan, and Tibet. The firm has made significant contributions to the development of legal aid in underdeveloped regions in Central and Western China and the advancement of the rule of law across the country. Notably, Lawyer Zheng Ling was awarded the title of "National Advanced Individual in Legal Aid Work" by the Ministry of Justice.

Whether it's couples peacefully separating at the Civil Affairs Bureau, plaintiffs and defendants in civil courtrooms, or defendants and victims in criminal cases, the manifestations of conflict may vary in intensity, but the root causes of conflict are remarkably similar: marital and family dilemmas.

11/23 2020Legal Aid "1+1" | Wangmo Diary (Part Two): Life is Bitter, but WorthwhileA defining trait of being a lawyer is peeling back the veil that often hides life’s harsh realities through each unique case, revealing its raw, most intense conflicts—especially as a criminal lawyer. This small town began to unfold before me with familiar yet persistent stories, starting from the moment I took on Ms. Ma's case and held her indictment in my hands, seeing it all through the lens of a woman.

11/16 2020Legal Aid "1+1" | Wangmo Diary (Part One): I Love, Therefore I AmIt’s been over twenty days since I arrived in Wangmo as a volunteer lawyer. On this sunny winter afternoon, sitting on the balcony of the public rental housing arranged by the judicial bureau, looking around at the bare walls transformed into a simple yet cozy space, and listening to the local dialect drifting up from the street below, I feel as though I’m still in a dream.
